Blogging....
Yep, lemme go straight to my last night in Melbourne. Yea, I will never forget that night. Brendan and Ying cooked for me over at Brendan's house!! We invited Dulcie over for the dinner as well. The best thing was, Brendan allowed me to drive his car myself to pick Dulcie up from her house! Driving in Melbourne is simply GREAT! Hahahhaa... especially when the owner of the car is not onboard... oops! I did speed a bit, it was damn fun! But anyway, I only sped a bit, afterall, I'm a careful driver. HAHAHA!
They cooked so much! Honey-glazed roasted chicken wings, how does that sound? Hahaha! Vegetable soup, baked potato with bacon bits and garlic breads. It was a very filling dinner, an unforgettable one, deifnitely.
The best cooks you will ever get in Melbourne.. Heex..
Yeahhh.. they prepared these for ME!
But they ended up being the one eating it while I take the pictures... Starting from left - Brendan , Ying, Dulcie
Yeahhh.. I get to take picture with a super duper beautiful lady...
2 lazy bums being a couch potato after dinner - Dulcie and Ying =)After the dinner, the 4 of us walked to buy my favourite pizza in Melbourne for 1 last time. I Love the pizza there! Pizzas in Singapore is nowhere near. I want to learn their recipe so I can cook myself next time for supper. Hahaha! After the pizza, the 3 of them see me to the bus terminal where I board the Airport Shuttle to the Melbourne Airport, around 4am, gotta catch my 6am flight at Melbourne Airport. So, it was one last longgg hug with Ying and goodbye to Melbourne.
For my month stay in Melbourne, thank you to Brendan and Ying for their hospitality and home stay. Thanks to Dulcie, she is sooo funny! Thnx to Zixie for his prepaid card, and forking out time to meet for dinner and all. Thnx to his girlfriend, Siyue, for cooking a meal over at Dulcie house during my stay. Thnx to Lynn(Ying's house mate) for making a great meal as well during my stay in melb. Anyway, Lynn's cooking is no joke. It's what I call damn good!
So it's 1 hour flight back to Sydney again. This time round, I will be staying there for 1 week with my brother. I met a few nice people, will tell more about it in my future posts, in a more casual manner.. Hahahaa.. Today is fine.. I read thru it, doesn't sound like a brochure to me.. Hahahaha... Ciaoz everyone! Have a nice day!

That's Me!bourne City - Melbourne @ Nite
First up, it's Melbourne Supper Club, a bar in Melbourne. Located in the city of Melbourne lies a small door situated in between a number of cafes. When you are there, you need to keep your head high to search for a small wooden board which writes "Melbourne Supper Club". Be sure to keep your eyes wide open as the the signboard is really small. It's as though they don't want anybody to know that this place even exists. Hahhaha! After you found the tiny door, head in and the flight of stairs will lead you to a whole new Melbourne, Melbourne @ Nite.
This place is divided into 2 storeys. The lower one which is indoor. The design of this storey is very woody and class in a traditional english way, I'm not really good at describing it. Anyway, they have these big and comfy couches which add to the grandness of the whole place. The whole ambience is definitely suitable if you want a quiet and nice chill out session with your partner or your friends. On the upper level, it's a outdoor concept with metal chairs and small coffee tables, one where you can enjoy the cold wind in winter . Not to worry if you think the wind is too cold for you as they have heaters located at various places to make sure you still feel comfortable despite the chilling weather.
They have a variety of drinks from beers to cocktails to wines to ensure your preference isn't left out from the list. If you are just looking at a good and nice beer session with your friends, they do serve a number of beers from different countries. Let the waiter know your preferences and they are all willing to spend some time and effort introducing and recommending the ones you prefer. Service in Melbourne Supper Club is excellent. A very big plus point for this place! For all out there who has a palette of a frenchman, not to worry as they have a long wine list. If you found yourself too lost for choices, feel free to consult the waiters and they are more than willing to help.
As for me, beer is still my choice as I've haven't tried a lot of wine before, so I don't really know how to appreciate it.
Reviews on the beers: Fantastic!
They do serve finger food as well. I remember ordering a mini pie which is super duper nice! I forgot the name, but they only have one kind of pie in the menu, so you definitely won't miss it! It's a MUST TRY!
No pictures on this place though, I apologise for that as I forgot to take some pictures of the place. I was too engrossed with the cheers! and the pies until I forgot to take some pictures.
But it's okay, the next place I'm going to introduce is also great, with pictures this time. The place is called Chill On. It's like Eski Bar in Singapore, the only difference; it's better! A short intro on this place. This whole lounge is filled with ice the moment you step in. The walls, the bar counter and the couches, it's nothing but ice! Even the glass you use for your drinks is made of ice! The place is very interesting and defintely worth checking out. The best part is because your glass is made of ice. you can actually just smash the glass and break it after you finish drinking! Alternatively, you can chew slowly and swallow the glass. Hahahha! I didn't try that though, I smashed it!
Chill On Ice Lounge @ 296 Russell Street, Melbourne
This is the door to heaven.
Inside, it's ice, ice and ice!
They have ice sculptures as well but you can't break it. You can only break the glass.
Starting from left - Dulcie, Brendan, Ying
YeP! Me & the drunkards... Hahaha...Apologises again for the bad quality of the pictures. But the important thing is to introduce the place. I even found out on something. Ying is a super duper great dancer! She's like drop dead gorgeous when she dance! To all the guys who reads this, check her out man! Hahahaha!
I guess that's all for tonight, it's 3am singapore time. In layman term, it's time to sleep. Good night, Good morning & Good Day!

That's Me!bourne City - Federation Square
This is Fed Square. As you can see, a lot of people like to just sit around in the square and just relax away. It's a really nice place to just relax at, especially in winter when Melbourne's weather is fantastic!
Even the buildings at Fed Square are kind of arty huh? Hahahaa....
Just beside Fed Square, there is the Yarra river. A nice place for couples to just take a nice stroll.
I guess the ferry service is available at a cost too. I didn't try it though, I took the cheaper alternative; I walked... Heeheex..
I happen to see this group of youngsters playing skateboard. They look hardcore to me; afterall, they already broke one one of their boards.
His skills are mad!
Apparently, their fun did not last. A guard came and stopped them after a while.
Everyone finds their own part of fun and joy in Fed Square.
I managed to catch this street performance at Fed Square. He's a talent. I think he's funny.
After a while, he attracted quite a bit of attention. Ying told me she was there during this performance too. But too bad, we didn't see each other. It's like... so near yet so far...
I missed out something other than the talented part, this guy got the guts man! Hahaha...
I spotted this cute couple while enjoying my coffee at the square.
And the model of the day should definitely go to this young lady here! Her smile is so beautiful..

that's me!bourne city - Old Melbourne Gaol
Today, I'll be bringing everyone to a nice place. I'm bringing everyone on a day trip to the old Melbourne Gaol. Let me briefly introduce this place first. Melbourne Gaol, a prison used in the 19th century, is Victoria's oldest prison. For everyone's information, Australia do not have capital punishment anymore. If I'm not wrong the last person who received capital punishment in Australia was hanged here, at the old Melbourne Gaol. Including a notorious bushranger, Ned Kelly. To all who don't know him, he's like Australia's Robin Hood. Do a search on him, he's a very interesting criminal. Hahaha! Let me just tell you the best! The best part about this place, the Watch House. The Watch House is the place where the criminals get locked up and wait for their hearing.
It is a really scary place for the criminals. Imagine you and your bunch of friends breaking the law, and so unfortunately, you were the only one who got caught. After you were brought to the Watch House, you saw many others, all whom you didn't know. You are alone. You want so much to speak to the one beside you but you can't. The Sergeants are there, staring at you. No one is allowed to talk, or trouble will fall upon you. Everyone just stood there in a line, no talking , no fidgeting, only standing quietly waiting for the Sergeant to question each criminal one by one, while the rest wait.
It's your turn, you walk up to the Sergeant and the Sergeant starts to question you. Don't expect the kind of tone you will get from a hotel receptionist or the concierge, the Sergeant will show you who's boss. While you were giving your statement, one of the female criminal in the line burst into tears. Do not expect these Sergeants to pacify her, coaxing her to stop crying. This is a watch house. They shout at her, so loud, so scary that her tears were held back within a second.
After everyone is done, all of you are brought through a metal grill gate into a narrow alley where you are now then asked to stand straight, leaning against the wall. Everyone is instructed to bend forward as if you are doing a bow and start using your hand to sweep your hair for any potential forbidden items hidden. Yep, for anyone who is guessing, this is the part where they will be doing your full body inspection. Don't think you can cheat your way through as the Sergeant will always be there to give a helping hand if you are not thorough enough. But, don't expect them to be gentle. While you are doing so, the Sergeants will put on a rubber glove and ask you to strip naked to see if you have any forbidden item on your body hidden anywhere as well. Once the checks on the clothes and the body search is done. It's the painful part. For the guys,it's that hand up in your arse to see if there's anything hidden inside, and for the ladies, it's double trouble.
After which , everyone will be brought to the dark cells while you wait, for no reason given. I call it the dark cell for a reason, put your hands up right in front of you when you are inside, you can't see your hand. You are instructed to wait, standing. you can risk sitting and risk getting yourself into trouble, perhaps another "up-your-arse search".
Yup, you can never expect hotel treatment when you go into prison. You will be treated like dirt, you will get reprimanded like you were never did before. You will be treated with no dignity and no respect. You will regret you broke the law.
How was the story? I hope it's not too boring.. Hahaha... Anyway that was a rough walkthrough about the 1 hour guided tour provided at the Old Melbourne Gaol. The Sergeant (tour guide) introduce the watch house by treating the visitors like prisoners the moment you step in. Yup, I went to this place with my friend, Ying. Ying and I went through the guided tour almost exactly like what I told everyone, except that there is no stripping and "up your arse" search. But the Sergeant did put on the rubber gloves. Throughout the tour, it's endless and endless of MAD shoutings by the Sergeant. I would say it's a different experience. It's a CRAZY experience! Hahaha! I bet the worst scoldings Ying ever got in her life is not at home, but at Melbourne Gaol!
After the tour, Ying and I went to to walk around at the exhibition area. Some pictures for everyone to enjoy!
This is old Melbourne Gaol, the exhibition area. Some exhibits are placed inside the cells.
The place where the hanging is done. As quoted by Charles Duff, Hanging is a fine art.
The view of the exhibition area again, from below this time.
Prisoner 12347 - Me (Height - 5'8.5")
Prisoner 12348 - Ying Huey (Height - Confidential)
No longer in use, it is now conserved by the National Trust of Australia, the place i mean, not the model...
A photography area - That's the armour Ned Kelly wears when he commits his crimes.
Anyway, it's rumoured that the Old Melbourne Gaol is haunted. I think it's true. Look closely into the cell behind Ying. Is it just me or do you see a headless body too?
I had a lot of fun going there, especially with Ying cos she is so funny! This place is a definite must-go as you really won't get that experience anywhere else. Yeah, I guess that's all for now. Ciaoz!

Fun & Sun in Melbourne - Beach visiting
First, St Kilda Beach. St Kilda is a small suburb at a short distance away from the city. Not very short to the extent that you can reach by foot though. Hahaha! It's like a small town, known commonly for the cakes in the town. They have a number of cake shops over there and they are nice. They serve very nice fish and chips as well, I guess they have to since the town is situated just by the sea. And most improtant of all, they have a very beautiful beach. I shall let the picture do the talking, as usual. HAhaha!
This is St Kilda! It's like a small and isolated town, but it's cool. They seems to have everything they need.
I had fish and chips here. They sell fresh (raw) fish as well. This place serve really nice fish, be it grilled or deep-fried!
Monarch Cake Shop - The oldest cake shop at St Kilda. Look at the number of cakes they have on display. And that's only part of it!!
That's more cakes and pastries inside. I really like the ambience of this place. It's so retro, cool!
The cake I had, famous in the house. It's called "Chocolate Kugelhopf".
This is Luna Park - a theme park in St Kilda. It was closed when I was there, but it's okay. I heard the rides are boring.
yep, this is St Kilda beach. I like the sky, the reason why i chose to put up this picture.
St Kilda Pier. This pier stretches far out from the beach. To walk from the beach to the end of the pier which is this house, it takes you roughly 10 minutes or so. Hahaha, but to walk in winter is easy. (the weather is always fantastic!)
.jpg)
I didn't lie about it. It's a truly long walk, along the pier.
.jpg)
I happen to see something nice before I go. There are people kite-surfing. They look damn cool!
Next, I want to introduce Brighton beach. There is nothing much to talk about this beach because unlike St Kilda where it is a small town, there is nothing much around this area. But i did managed to capture a few nice pictures, hope everyone like the pictures!
This is Brighton Beach. I managed to catch the sunset. Lucky!
This small houses stretches along the coast of Brighton Beach. I don't know what house it is. But they are colourful!
This is the station of Brighton Beach. Melbourne gets dark very early in the winter. If I'm not wrong, this was around 4pm.
There is a yellow box in Melbourne as well. The guys who are in the army will know this. However, this is no smoking area. It's a zone whereby it will be monitored by the camera at all times. So, it's considered the safer if you stand within the yellow box.
Yup, that's all for the beaches in Melbourne which I want to introduce to everyone. I guess this is the closest I got between the beach and me - camera and photography. Hopefully, someday when i learn how to swim, I will go to the beach again and, hit the waves! Till then, it's stay out & stay clear.. Hahahha!

Fun & Sun in Melbourne - The Bachelor's House
Anyway, let's put all that studies aside. I realise at the rate I'm talking about my trip, I won't finish it within my lifetime. I would need to pass on to the next generation to continue writing for me. HAhaaa! So today, I will be doing a short summary on my stay in Melbourne, talking only about some tourist attractions and a few nice places I visited.
First and foremost, the place I stayed of course! Yeah! I stayed in Chapel street, South Yarra. I moved there after Ian flew back to Singapore. My friend, Brendan was kind enough to adopt a homeless kid into his Bachelor's House. South Yarra is very well known in Melbourne for all the different designer labels and fashion boutiques along the streets. Plus, they have a whole lot of dining restaurants and cafes with that wide varietiy of cuisines for you to choose from. And not to forget, the nightlife in South Yarra is happening! as there are a number os pubs and clubs along the streets, drawing here a big crowd who wants to part the night away during their weekends. However this is not it, this place where I stayed in is definitely one of the attraction in South Yarra, the Bachelor's House. It may only be a one-room apartment, but the the facilities inside is enough to make your life comfortable, it's so good that you thought you had never left home. This guy here have a full surround sound system for his TV, so he can enjoy his movies and games with that high quality sound. And if you get bored of watching movies at any point of time, no worries as he got a PS3 prepared for you, it is just a button away. BUT, playing PS3 will definitely get a bit boring after a while, and it is not healthy to just sit on that couch whole day exercising only your fingers. This is the time when you can stand up, hop around and swing your body away with that Wii console he have as well. That's when you realise you can actually sweat during winter. After you are done with that, turn on that ipod which is connected to a loud speaker and blast that music away, while making your way to the fridge where you will find yourself with lots of surprises (if you like junk food)! It's all "help yourself" in the house with the chocolates and the drinks. Take a break with that kit-kat and the juice and google away in that high powered laptop he has at home too! That is why, I always wake up asking myself this question - Why am I going out today?
Hahaha! That is definitely one hell of an attraction. To all who wants to stay there, do let me know so I can arrange it for you. Rental rates is always negotiable, so not to worry about that. But do take note in mind that you will have to sleep on the bed as the owner does not do so. Therefore, for all who are used to sleeping on the floor, please bear with that sacrifice during your stay in The Bachelor's House. Last but not least, hope you enjoy your stay.
This is South Yarra. It's one of the richest suburbs in Melbourne.
The pub just outside the place I stayed. This pub gets really crowded at night, especially weekends.
Yeah, this is the facilities of the Bachelor's House. Not a whole of it though.. It's endless...
I guess that's all for now at the moment. Need to rush out to get some stuff done. Will update more in the evening. Stay tuned!
